Photos from my Grandma’s 80th Party
Well, the party last night for my Grandma’s 80th was great fun. 23 of us went out to the Red Lion in Bolton, had a meal and quite a bit to drink then most of us went back to my parents where the party continued well into the morning.
My brother, his fiancée, and one of my cousins went out into town after coming to my parents for a bit, but the whole night was a complete success.
I promised photo’s, and as I forgot to charge the batteries for my camera I didn’t take any. It doesn’t matter though, because my Dad had his and it was getting passed around a lot, so I’ve got a copy of the photos from it which I’m including
So here are the photos from then
As the photos are quite large, you can click them to see them full size.

These are probably my Grandma and Grandad’s best freinds. They all meet up once a week and very often will go out for the afternoon to somewhere. Joan and Norman took Grandma and Grandad out for a meal on Grandma’s birthday which was actually on Wednesday.

This isn’t the best photo of the night as its a lot of the back of people. We had to move some tables a bit to make room for everyone as they hadn’t given us space for everyone. Of course, all this had to happen before Grandma and Grandad arrived and we knew they were only a couple of minutes away at this point so it was slightly chaotic!

You might have already spotted in the other photos that we are wearing badges. As there are a lot of us all together, and we only manage to get together 2-3 times a year, it gets pretty tough for Grandma to remember who is who, especially with the ones which she doesn’t see very often due to where people live. We tried name badges out at Christmas as an experiment, and it made life a lot easier for her getting our names right, and the staff in the Red Lion loved it too as it makes it easier for them to get the meals to the right people. It’s also a good conversation starter with random people either at the bar or out in the beer garden!

All the rushing about making sure everything was organized for them arriving paid off. Grandma and Grandad arrived at the expected time and all was well.
I don’t think this one needs explaining who is who - it’s self explanatory which is Grandma and which is Grandad! We managed to get Dora out of the way then we could get a photo of them as they arrived.
Grandma decided that it would be much nicer to have a photo of her in her new outfit without her cardigan on, so after a quick removal of it, time for another picture!
This is more a picture of the tables before we completely wrecked the place than anything else! You can also see quite a number of presents around from different people, mainly family that had come up to the party from various parts of the country.
